Dear Nanjing, We Love Ya

 photo collage7_zps41c5f4de.jpg
Oh, Nanjing.  We really loved you.  Your hotel was just what we needed  for crazy awesome breakfast buffeting, swimming, loving little people,

Skyping with Claire, and

learning to take baths followed up by chilling in fluffy towels.  You gave us time to form early bonds and do lots of crazy giggling.

We learned much in your museums as we stood by emperor's robes and photo collage5_zps739275e6.jpg
climbed your 600 year old city gates.  Around every corner we found someone making music. This saxophonist  playing in an historical tunnel stopped us in our tracks.

Your streets were full of trees and life.  Street food, scooters, red glowing lanterns, bikes and lights.  Food trucks are nothing new for you, are they?

You were the best kind of field trip.  Sophia loved finding the names of masons written in manuscript on each brick.  Learning that each brick had to be perfect, or a mason was killed had some history shock value.  And Eli?  Well, you made him smile.

Walking your streets filled the senses, and expanded little minds.

We made some beautiful memories, and photo collage6_zpscc548d1e.jpg
loved celebrating our time among you floating by your city lights.

We'll be back someday.  Promise.
