Mark grew up in NY, loving hockey and all things ice related.
So, Christmas Eve in NY brought ice skating, take II.
Our team has been before, and we've been promising lately to go back. I must admit that I was a tad grumpy about going, just dreading trying to skate around bent over with two girls sliding around on blades.

I happily admit that it ended up being a super fun morning!
Extra bonus was that our two hockey super star nephews came out to skate with us. They are on two teams and play or practice once, sometimes twice every day. This was one of only a couple days off the ice for them, but what did they do? They skated with us! Many thanks to Aunt Jen II for coming out and taking pics for us too! The next day, these three got special ice time at the arena and were able to play a little hockey!
This rink had skate trainers, so the girls were able to glide around on their own. Uh, hallelujah!
Of course, ever ready, skating pro, Mark, had them all over the ice. The guy couldn't stop smiling to have his girls in the rink with him.
The girls did so well, and wouldn't leave until the Zamboni threatened to run them over.
Lest you think it was all effortless and smiley though,
know that there was plenty of this...
Grumpy me apparently had a grand old time though, as the camera caught some of our typical team face-making!
Love these times out active as a family. It was a memory-maker.
