One year ago, 24 hours in Chengdu, China, changed everything.
She was tiny, pale, sick and terrified.
She cried and went to sleep in our arms.
In just a moment, she was an orphan no more.
She was wearing red Mickey Mouse pants,
orange sandals that were too small, and a 4T shirt.
We signed some papers, and drove away from the orphanage.
Back in our hotel, she sat on our bed rubbing her hand across the sheets, not understanding where she was, or what was happening.
We gave her a bottle,
a bath,
and a nap.
She was ours and we were hers.
24 hours changed everything.
And 365 days changed it all again.
We love you, Claire Liu Wusha.
What a gift this year has been.

Yes, we are public again...scary! lol. Have tried to be more careful with specifics and taken out a ton of references to where/who we are. Hopefully we will be able to stay that way. My hope is to now be able to connect with some more China families. We are praying about a little boy with FIVE heart defects. Waiting for cardiologist to review file. Have been waiting several days and now a long weekend is looming! But God is sovereign and if we aren't his family...we are praying for someone to come forward for him. He's been on the shared list for 7 months. My heart is full and breaking...asking for a miracle, or money to start growing on the maple trees out front!
