***Edited to add that it is MY blog reading that sometimes leaves me wanting more. For most people, blogs are scrapbooks, and that is a beautiful thing. It is ME that is struggling with wanting to go beyond that, but also struggling with comparing myself to others whose blog life seems perfect. Please don't think it is YOUR blog. It is MINE that I am struggling with....***
Just so you know...
- I often wish it was only strangers who were reading this blog. I'd love to get more vulnerable. I'm not gutsy enough to really share, when I know that lots of people that I see all the time are reading.
- We read lots of parenting books and pray about how to raise or kids, BUT parenting is still messy. We yell more than we should, and we spend a lot of time feeling guilty for our mistakes.
- My goal is to feed my family minimally processed foods, BUT sometimes I just want to rip open a mac and cheese box.
- I'd prefer to completely remove the TV from our home, BUT my kids still watch way more than I'd like to admit and I watch a few shows too...
- I want simple, BUT often complicate life by doing too much.
- I'd like for my kids to play with simple, more natural, more creative toys, BUT often feel silly trying to explain that to others.
- I'd like to make homemade bread all the time, BUT have made a whole bunch of not so yummy loaves.
- I am married to my best friend, BUT we sometimes have weeks go by when we barely get a chance to really talk.
- Surface level small talk makes me crazy, BUT I rarely bring up the things that are on my heart.
- 65% of me has let go with obsession with material things, BUT I still want a new house with a perfect backyard, new carpet with no spit-up stains, and a couch that doesn't have milk stains on it.
- I am learning to let go of perfection, BUT I still catch myself wanting things to be a certain way, and being disappointed when they are not.
- My girls are cute, smart and say the most thoughtful and funny things, BUT they also yell, cry, refuse to share, and won't eat meals that I have cooked.
- I have big, big faith, BUT still doubt, question, mess up and fail to share that faith.
- I'd love to lead a life of service, BUT most of the time I just think about me

Here! Here! Read this and thought to myself "Hey someone was thinking the same things I was" I couldn't agree with you more. Sometimes there needs to be a little more real life then blog life.
God bless you for putting that out there!
If this were Facebook, I would definitely hit the "like" button! Thanks for sharing!
I feel all these same things you are sharing and actually just scaled my blog reading list WAY down for this reason~ just too perfect or maybe if I'm truthful~ more perfect than mine. I am very guilty of sharing only the good on my blog but I use more like a scrapbook than a blog~ I don't put bad or negative stuff in my scrapbooks either. I save all that for my journals and God. :) I too have fear of sharing my 'whole' world with everyone especially my family who I always try to protect. So I guess this post really makes me wonder if I need to have my blog out there making people think my life it just what I share... I don't want judgement for not sharing the bad either. I have things that are not good with me but don't really want everyone knowing it~ Pride. :( Thanks for making me think and I will certainly be praying what God would have me do about my blog because I certainly feel convicted today. Thank you friend!!! Blessings to you today!!!
Your blog is always a good place an you keep it real:)
Oh, how this resonates with me this morning - feeling as far from perfect as I can get today.
This is just imperfectly beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
I liked this also and am glad that you shared it!!!
Such a good post! I love when people keep it real. I have a lot of good on my blog - but I definitely share my not so good too. I definitely like to keep it real because I am far from perfect.
Thumbs up sister....thumbs up.
Wow-I think you just described my life perfectly! The one that really resonated with me was not being able to have a good chance to talk for weeks sometimes. I know it took me 2 days this week just to find the time to ask a question that needed a one-word answer. I'm glad you wrote this list-it's good to know I'm not alone :)
Well stated!
I sometimes like reading other peoples blogs so that it is a mini vacation from my not-always-quite-so-perfect-life- but I also like to hear that many (most) families struggle with the same things that I do!
For what it's worth- I love your blog, and always look forward to checking in on your family.
