The Simplest of Joys

 Sometimes it is the simple things, isn't it?  We feel strongly that we want to keep birthdays fairly simple in our family, but we don't want to skimp on celebrating either.  This year, we invited Sophs' BFFs to the park for a little mini picnic.  The birthday girl just wanted some balloons, some PINK cupcakes and some fun bags to give her friends.   

The littles did what littles love to do.  They rode bikes, swang, played, giggled and walked in the woods. 

 We went to a park that has a mini track where she could ride her new PINK birthday scooter.  She had opened it the night before and just loved it.  She even wanted it parked by her bed while she snoozed. 

 One of life's biggest blessings is good friends to share it with. 

 A simple pleasure for Claire?  A tray full of good eats.  

 The groups' latest three year old smiled the whole time.

 

 Giving gift baggies to her pals was one of the highlights of her day!  They were filled with silly string, bubbles, pretzels and fruit snacks. 

 And the kiddos first silly string experience?  Forget about it! 
They LOVED it!

 And so did the adults!

 Some adults more than others. 

That is just what you get when you have a bald head.

 Another simple joy?  Watching men be good dads. 

 And sisters be good sisters.

Sophia's third birthday was a day to remember.
