Our immediate family has a girl thing going on. My parents had two girls, and now Janie and I are carrying on the girl power by continuing to add chicks to the nest. It was Madeline's fall break this week, so they came for a quick visit to meet the latest girl in the family.
We ate Carrabba's (THANK YOU, Janie!), read lots of books, giggled, picnicked, and visited the zoo. 
Claire was immediately enamored with Janie and Madeline.
She kept pointing at them and making the most hilarious of sounds!

Can you even fathom how our girl's world has changed? After each round of family leaves, we have to sit back and reflect on her new life. She doesn't just have the love of a father, mother and sister. She has been thrown into a whole, crazy, wonderful, loving, huge clan. We all waited and longed for the day that she'd be in pictures with us. Now, here she is, smiling away. Loved on by a host of folks who waited alongside us for her to arrive. Completely unaware of the journey now behind us.

It is wonderful having Claire in our family - she fits right in! I love her sweet little self -backing up to sit on your lap in such a determined way. Our visit was too short - if you witnessed my crying on exit like Madeline did you would have seen the evidence of that, but I'm so glad that we got to come down! We'll be back down again, and it won't take us a year to get there like this time. (Lovely photo you chose of me by the way....)
