Booty Roast

This past weekend was officially declared a booty roast.  Despite the heat, we happened to be in the area of an animal rehabilitation center that had been on our "places to see" list.  So, we stopped in for a toasty, fun time.  Our girl was not phased by the heat.  She ran at warp speed across this "spooky alligator bridge" about ten times.  Mark and I were on both ends huffing, puffing and chugging our water bottles.

Unfortunately, due to the heat, most of the animal exhibits were closed.  Some horses, snakes, a turtle, birds, two llamas and about 100 ostriches were entertainment enough though.

We were a little shocked, and a little grossed out, by the huge yellow snake.

Ostriches.  Lots of ostriches.  Lots and lots and lots of ostriches.

We had to ditch our normal picnic routine for an air conditioned trunk-nic.
We roasted, but had a great time.  We'll be back in the fall for some cooler weather animal fun.
