We made it!! Our flight from Seattle to Beijing went great. Thankfully, we snoozed most of the way with only minor grumpy, uncomfortable moments. A memorable moment was seeing the Northern Lights through our plane window. Bucket list, baby! Finally, about 20+ hours later, after navigating through heavy Beijing traffic, we made it to our hotel at about 1AM.
Mark and Sophia then snoozed AGAIN all night. I listened to them snore and laid in bed marveling that we are back in China, & in the same city as Evie and so close to Eli. (See ya later today, jet lag!)
Our first hiccup was that our hotel wouldn't accept our new version of the US 100 bills. This AM we are off to a bank and are hoping for the best.
After a breakfast of fried rice, noodles, dumplings and black tea, we are ready to see what Beijing has for us today.
Sophia is doing so well. We're definitely thrilled that we brought her. The amount she's taken in already can't be matched. China got major points when the breakfast buffet included ice cream!

I can wait to read more. Praying you find rest and joy these coming weeks.. You are already missed..I cant wait to sweet Evie and Eli! They are loved!
Our favorite breakfast in China was french toast and pot stickers. They go together, right? I felt like Will Ferrell in "Elf" because I just covered everything in syrup. Glad you made it safely. Get some sleep.

So excited to see you finally back in China again!!
I see Captain Sophie got you there safely!
I don't even know you guys, just a friend of Donna Straight and a fellow adoptive mom. Your faith and love inspire me every time I read of your journey. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us. I was there 2 yrs ago and wish I was there now. Unfortunately my husband was not able to travel with me to China. He was not able to see what I saw. I hope one day God finds a way to move his heart so we can go back. I am so excited that two more of Gods little angels are about to have a family forever. Our Luci is starting to grasp what that actually means and it makes me more thankful that God allowed us to be her parents and share that experience with her. We live near Johns Creek, if you ever want to do a play date with the kids shoot me an email and we are there. We took a yr break from CHOA but we are about to start up again. When you start going down there on a regular basis with your little one let me know, there is a lot of waiting involved...we can wait together. Hope everything in China runs smoothly. We are praying for you every step of the way! Keep moving fwd, you already know that the hard part starts when you get home. You are not alone, you have an army of us moms behind you...you can't see us but we are here.
FYI: I have LOTS of boy and Girl clothes that my kids have outgrown and barely worn- they wear uniforms at school but relatives keep buying the clothes, not a horrible problem to have. If it would help... I can have you several bins ready and waiting for you guys when you get back. Just email the word YES and an address to drop them off. I figure that if I can't go back for the little man God has put on my heart then I can help another mom with her little ones.
