At some point while we were playing, back to school fever hit.
We homeschoolers have more of a schooling as a lifestyle mindset, but we did get official a few weeks back. With sharpened pencils and new boxes of pointy-tipped Crayolas, we've eased back into reading, writing and 'rithmetic.
Sophia is in a Pre-First class at a hybrid school, going on Tuesdays and Thursdays. She did K instead of pre-K last year. We just don't want to push her ahead as a young one in each grade level, so we are thrilled to have this option.
After two years in a sweet preschool, this little one is back at home for Pre-K. Already we are so happy with this decision. This is one last year to be little, but still get one on one learning time with lots of creative play thrown in. She's getting her social time trough soccer, speech, gymnastics, play dates and church childcare 2x per week.
Trying to be mainly hands on, we are focusing on a classic picture book of the week, based on the program Before Five in a Row. She is workbooking her way through "Get Set for The Code".

Yes, homeschooling is all kinds of hard. I have to plan, we grumble at each other, and free time is non-existent. For this year, though, it just feels right.

Love the post. The girls are lucky to have such a great Mom and Teacher!
LOVE seeing their sweet faces and knowing they love where they are. Yes that sounds about like our home here. Grumbles and smiles... keeping it real. :) XOXOXO
