I Was Created for Care

Third year at Created for Care and I wasn't sure how to feel going in. 

I both dreaded it and longed for it.  450 adoptive mommas with big, powerful hearts for orphans.  It is a major charge of energy and emotion. I'd been feeling a bit weary from the our paperwork journey,
and I wanted solitude. 

As it turned out though, I needed that charge of energy and inspiration.
Evening fire pit time wasn't half bad either.   And hanging out with some of my favorite women in all the world? A gift. 


All those years ago, when we said yes to adoption, I never could have imagined what God would do. 

There have been major delays, tears, complete change of directions, faith lessons, lots of releasing of control and all kinds of big fat blessings. 

We are older and wiser than when we filled out that first application, unaware of how God was going to use those first signatures. 
We were mentored, and now we mentor. 
Now, we are more aware that we aren't in control. 
More aware that children are gifts placed in our care for a short time.
More confident of the Lord's ability to redeem the hard stuff in our lives.

We've been humbled and raw, elated and in awe. 

This weekend just reminded me that I was created to care for our sweet loves, and created to fight for the needs of orphans.
