"He IS a King, Ya Know"

Friends, we have Christmased.
We've partied, hosted, baked, opened a Christmas card filled mailbox, Jessie tree-d, served, watched a ballet, celebrated,
visited a live Nativity, sang, crafted, watched the classics, had an elf sitting on our shelf, exchanged gifts, and then repeated the sequence again.

Those things have been festive and bright memories, but the sweatest times have been moments at home, where we have been drinking in the wonder of a Saviour's birth.

Even with all the fuss, two little souls in our family just get it.  They are naturally drawn to Mary and Joseph, and to the Christ-child, just as the shephards and kings were.
They continue to hold the baby in swaddling clothes, and
we keep finding little reminders of the gift the world was given.

When asked about the crown taken from another toy and added to the head of an infant, she replied,

"He IS a king, ya know."

Indeed.
Merry Christmas to you.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  ~Luke 2:11

Wow, sometimes we need a simple comment like that to define the true meaning of Christmas! Kinda wish I had thought of and said that.
