Haiti Day 1: Movie Night

Photobucket
As it turns out, popcorn tastes just as good in
Haiti with a movie as it does in the US!
Margaret, Leonard and Suzie went retro and popped popcorn old style!

Coming off our uber emotional city and orphanage tour,
we just needed to have some fun with the kids.
And fun we had!
We popped 60 plus bags of popcorn,
and then hauled it to the orphanage in a jumbo suitcase,
along with an LCD projector, DVD player and sound board.

As we figured out the technical side of movie watching,
the kids sat silently on their long benches.
Never once did a child complain of not having enough room.

Bags of popcorn brought out big smiles!

So what do you show 51 kids who speak Haitian Creole?
Why Tom and Jerry of course!
Childhood felt good that night.
