Beach Blessing

I'm a momma.  I plan three meals a day, taxi kids in a mini van, sweep floors, change diapers, make sure helmets are worn, bath wiggly bodies and watch Little Einsteins.  Life as a momma is blessed, but full.

This past weekend though, it was me who was pampered and cared for.

I have had the privilege to be in a weekly Bible study with these incredible women.  Their faith, their parenting and how they serve has inspired me.

To deepen our relationships and celebrate our time together, two of the women invited our whole group to their condos in Perdido Key for a beach weekend.
Oh, yeah!

The mommas with older kiddos decided to pamper those of us who have younger kids.  And pamper they did.  Oh my, did they pamper.

 (Yep, matching dresses.  Oops!)

The younger mommas were greeted with personalized beach bags with magazines, waters, notepads, hand sanitizers and gum.

E.V.E.R.Y. detail was taken care of.  We arrived to the serving of drinks in personalized glasses.  The "bigs" planned, prepared and served the meals.  We awoke to the smell of cinnamon rolls and pancakes.  As we lounged on the beach, they brought down hot appetizers.  For lunch, coolers were rolled through the sand with several varieties of sandwiches, iced drinks and fruit.  Despite our protest, they grilled steak and shrimp for our dinner, while we chilled out by candlelight in the bee-u-ti-ful condo. It was a full scale pampering.

They provided the beach canopy, the chairs and the towels.  As I walked out to the beach each time, I kept marveling at my little bag containing only a book and some sunscreen.  No juice boxes, no sand toys, no pool noodles.

It was perfection.  The beach was our own.  After the grilled meal the first night, we giggled over a heated game of Catch-Phrase!  After dining out the second night, we came home to sinful take home desserts.  Perfection.

It was a gift.

A million thanks to Tammy and Mallory for hosting.  A million more thanks to the "bigs" for pampering us.  Thanks to each of the fourteen other women for being so kind, so fun and so inspirational.  Thanks to Monica for being our photographer.  Thanks to Mark for flying solo with the girls.

A gift I tell ya.

oh my. Am I allowed to be a little jealous?

Seriously, that sounds fabulous. I'm so glad you got pampered and didn't have to change a single diaper. Sounds a.maz.ing.

That does sound amazing. I think these "old" mama's knew exactly what the "young" mama's needed. Much deserved Rebecca:) Glad you got a trip with a smaller bag. You should put up a pic of you in the dress and the other girl and then we can rate who wore it better, like the fashion mags do. You, Totally!
