This little beauty was placed in our arms six months ago.
We changed her world, and she changed ours.
As Sharon says, she has known "forever" for six months.
These passing months have brought a whole lot of questions, a whole lot of praying, after the kids are snoozing late night talks, speech therapy, a bunch of craziness, heaps of beauty, never ending messiness and a heavy dose of sweetness.

So who is this tiny life-changer?
She is...
13 days from being two
tough in a way that can't be pinpointed
deeply compassionate
both serious and giggly
fearless
a crazy bath splasher
independent
a hugger of anyone with open arms
a kiss giver
mild
a booty shaker and lover of tunes

She only says a handful words, but has still blessed us with her love. She is gentle and empathetic. Yet, at the same time, she is strong, independent and fearless. She loves to hold a sippy cup and an armload of stuffed pals. She appreciates her food, often eating for 10-20 minutes longer than the rest of us. What Sophia does, she does. She is one of us, and a natural teammate!
They say that after an adoption, it takes six months to feel "normal".
I say we'll never be normal again. Normal isn't the path we are walking.
(Today she went to an audiologist for further testing after failing her post-op hearing tests. We are happy to report that she PASSED!!)

Claire is such a blessing and is destined for great things. She is a survivor in a major sense. We are blessed to have her in our family. Yeah on her hearing test. We love her. Grams

Isn't it grand?! And every month gets better! Just wait..another year, at 18 months, you won't believe it. God is faithful. We are blessed. :)
Yeah so glad about the hearing test!
congrats on six months! to me it feels like you've been a family forever. can't imagine your blog without Claire.
LOVE the shirt! it is AWESOME. before i got your comment i thought you got it at a boutique or something. i was admiring it. i love that you hand-stitched it. i really like that look for this piece better than machine. your hand stitching looks really good, too. your stitches are so even, both in size and spacing. and i LOVE the buttons. that is so cool! great job!
beware - appliqueing is sooo addictive! :)
hugs
6 months already?? I love your description of little Miss Claire. Makes me want to come and give the little hugger a hug!
Can't believe it's been 6 months already. She has "bloomed" so much and this is just the beginning. Happy 6 months sweet Claire.
She's just beautiful, Rebecca and looks right at home where she belongs. Does it still sometimes catch you off guard that you actually have her and she's real and she's with you forever? I remember with Abby, being amazed that she was ours. Sometimes I'll still look at her or see a picture of her and be reminded of the precious gift she is to our family.
Beautiful! We love her!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures! It looks like she is fitting right into your sweet life!
