A Girl and Her Man

Snow Day II 070 edit
At the first sighting of snow yesterday, Sophia had visions of a snowman dancing her head.  Nothing else was important, not walks, not snow angels, not sledding.  She had a vision and a plan.

One of her favorite cartoons this past Christmas was "Frosty the Snowman", so this guy was dubbed "Frosty" while he was just a big pile of snow.

It was instant love.  She loved him, and spent most of our morning hugging his cold, chubby body.  She loved him, so Claire did too.

She hugged, hugged again, and then hugged some more.  We were peppered with questions about how quickly he would melt and how long he would hang out with us.  Snow Day II 022 edit
When we came inside, she wanted to talk about Frosty and what he might be doing.  Before bed, we had to go take a status check in the dark.

This morning, she was very concerned about her snowy friend.  She was alarmed that his hat had been removed, so she quickly shared hers.
This girl loves her man.

Let's hope her man sticks around for a few days.

There's a children's book titled, "A Snowman named just Bob." It's a wonderfully poetic and deep book about friendship and love and it touches on the subject of death in a very sweet way, without the kids crying. It's got enchanting pictures as well. It's one of my 6 year old's (and my) favorite books.

Hope Sophia's man doesn't turn into a puddle too quickly :-) I remember Madeline crying over a melted snowman. Looks like fun!

Great that you guys have taken advantage of the snow to get outside and enjoy it! Enjoyed the pictures and dialogue.
