Spelunking

Preschool starts Monday, so we decided to take one last day trip with our favorite toddler trio.  The goal?  Spelunking!  It was a fun day of
feeding ducks and really hungry fish (25 cents)
climbing steep toddler mountains,
exploring nature,
swinging the day away with friends,
taking a little (.5 second) snooze,

investigating a wood carving,
throwing pebbles,
and spelunking!!  ($1.00 for adults).
As we stepped into the cave, my mini spelunker yelled,
"Let's go on an adventure, guys!"
We investigated stalactites and stalagmites, got really muddy,
and had a true adventure!
We spent the rest of the day picnicking, playing in the creek,
and guzzling natural spring water.
The spring water was a major crowd pleaser!
It was a great way to teach our kiddos about nature
and good citizenship.  Scratch that, it was all about fun in nature.
We topped the day off with a round of fast melting brown cow ice creams ($2.00).  There is no photo record of the ice cream consumption fiasco.  Just know that it involved 13 baby wipes, the removal of clothing, and one girl (and her mother) covered in chocolate.  Also know that the involved party still managed to suck down every drop of dripping goodness on a stick.
Late in the afternoon, with our wallets $3.25 lighter, we headed home.  Sticky, muddy, sweaty, wet, tired and really happy.

It looks lovely. I would NOT be a good spelunker. NOT a good one. I hate those kinds of things. Underground caverns with no sky....ahhhhh...claustrophobic! However..I'm glad YOU had fun. :-)

Fun times! Hope your girlie does great in preschool (with a great Mommy like she has we know she will). Won't it be fun to take Claire next time!
