I am a stay at home momma. Due to budget cuts in our county, my part-time academic coach job was eliminated. So, as my school friends are gearing up for another school year, I am gearing up for other things. I'll admit that is a strange combination of wonderful and scary to not be in "back to school mode".
We have massive payments to make with our adoptions, but I am just going to trust that God knows what He is doing. He has called us to adopt, so the provision will come. He knows that I am a mom at heart. He knows that we are getting ready to bring a toddler into our home who has lived in an orphanage for almost two years of her life. He knows that we are pursuing simplicity in our lives. He knows.
And so, I'll be at home. Finger-painting, reading library books, learning to bake bread and learning to trust. It's good. Unusual and a bit frightening, but very good.
"God is God. Because He is God, He is worthy of my trust and obedience. I will find rest nowhere but in His holy will, a will that is unspeakably beyond my largest notions of what He is up to." ~Elisabeth Elliot

It is all God's plan, I am sure of that.... I would admit to being a little green about it, but there is a plan for every life - God has great things in store for all of us! (Green about the stay at home thing, Green about the adoption thing - hey, at least I'm honest!)
you know, maybe this is a blessing in disguise. depending on claire's personality it could have been very difficult for her if you went back to work. i think it would have been really hard on evie if i would have had to go back. nothing at all against people who choose to do so, because we all have a different path. just trying to be positive. :)
I'm right there with you!
:)
I know you are making the right choice because you have faith and you are a wonderful mom! The girls will be sooooo happy to stay home with their mommy! I am jealous you get this time. ENJOY it! :)
You know I love being a stay-at-home mama. It is tough sometimes, but it is wonderful. I think both of your girls are both going to love having you at home. Sounds like you are on the perfect path to me. :D
It is the most enjoyable time of your life. Your kids will grow up so fast and there is always time for work. Right now God has led you to the right spot:)
And you can come hang out with all us other stay at home mommies.
You're embracing this change, with a trusting heart...the only way. And, I love EE :)

i trust. :) and i'm happy for you. i think this will be wonderful for both of your children!
Congratulations on the promotion ~ I believe with you that God has called you to this for this season and He always blesses what HE is doing and really not the other way around like we often pray. I'm praying your year is marked with God's hand print and as scary as this change can seem, you'll look back on it as the greatest years of your life. You are already an amazing mom with a part time job... can't imagine how much MORE amazing you'll be without another job on your plate.(and, obviously, with your Creator as your ultimate guide) I SO love following your journey because it is so evident God's hand on your life. Double blessings to you!
