100 Good Wishes Quilt

In perfect timing, Claire's 100 Good Wishes Quilt is complete.  Isn't it lovely?  I love the patchwork of fabric, with each piece representing a much loved family member or friend.  This qualifies as a family heirloom, and it is fresh off Mom's sewing machine.   It represents family, friendship, love, kindness and thoughtfulness.

We are so very  grateful to each person who contributed, and are deeply grateful  to my mother who lovingly handstitched each square.
A few pieces (that couldn't be cut to match the other squares) have special places on the four corners of the back.

We are hoping for some family luck this week.  At two other critical points in our adoption journey, we were with my parents.  In 2006, when our hearts were crushed over a 5 month wait from the USCIS, my parents were there the day the mailman brought that golden ticket.  Several anxious months later, we received word that our dossier was logged-in in China while staying with them in KY.  Well, Sophia and I are in KY this week, and are hoping that we receive news of our LOA!  (We received word that it is finally in-process!)

Somehow my comment didn't post... now I can't think of how I said it before...

Mom loved working on that quilt, and those of us who gave squares loved contributing. It seems like forever ago that we gave you those! God is obviously at work here... can't wait to meet Claire!
