As I shared in this post from my trip to Zimbabwe, there are some teenage girls wishing for shoes, underwear, socks and money for school. I can't just be back at home and go on living as we did before. Now that we have seen, we are responsible. A couple of weeks ago, I let people know that I would be packing some packages to help make these wishes come true. The generosity of our friends never ceases to amaze me. We got lots of donations (25 flip flops, 20 packages of underwear and 15 packages of socks). We also had offers to help pay for the girls' schooling ($60 per semester) and even offers of funds for surgery for Amos.
My online adoption buddy, Angie from "A Mother's Place" sent the above, gi-normous "panty package". She and her co-workers said, "All of our hearts were broken at the thought of these young women just wanting underwear. With all that we and our children have, we felt like this was small in comparison." Thank you, Angie and co-workers. Thank you!
Thanks also to Angela, Jennifer, Eva at "Our Life with Three" and my sister, Janie, for having hearts for these girls. They sent flip flops, underwear, socks and some funds to help with shipping. Thank you, friends! We are grateful, and the girls will be too.

Rebecca -
I have new flip flops that I was going to return - about 5 oaurs, I'd love for you to send them. It's the last week of pre-k job and vol. at elem so I am crazy busy - I could leave them on my porch. Call me.
What a beautiful post Rebecca! It causes me to rethink some of my priorities as well! You are a great woman!
What a super way to remember and not just go and forget the kids you saw there. When I see you I intend to give also.
