Making Change, One Can at a Time

Ever think about what things might be close to God's heart? Do you wonder how He would have us serve, love and live? James 1:27 is the definition of "pure and faultless religion".

James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

The Brighton-Kennedy Foundation was officially kicked off this weekend. This foundation is named for two Ethiopian orphans who never made it home to their families. These sweet ones were the children of our good friends. These families received referrals, brought children into their hearts, but were never able to bring them home. Why? Lack of nutrition and adequate medical care.

We might not all be able to adopt one of the world's 147 million orphans, but we can still "look after orphans". We can be sure that they have adequate nutrition as they wait in their orphanage for parents. One easy way is to participate in the foundation's formula drive. Would you buy a can?
