E-I-E-I-O

Take a look at this little peanut. This was taken last year during a Spring visit to a local farm.
We had such a great day that day, that I have been talking about it every since.
This weekend we were finally able to go back, this time taking along our favorite Marko the Daddio.

Look at the peanut now! This little farmhand was ready to EXPLORE this year.
We had great fun petting and feeding all the farm animals.

We occasionally stopped to investigate all the droppings left by the animals. Nice, huh? At one point, it looked like she was going to put one in her mouth, so we went flying across the farm to swat it out of her hand. Luckily it ended up being mulch. Ah, the joys of parenting an inquisitive toddler.
The fences (or "gates") were almost as exciting as the animals.

Some of the animals were a little freakier than others. Like say...

... this funky llama. Nice hairdo, buddy. Seriously.
One of the highlights was our little one's first pony ride. With the helmet safely secured, she instantly went into jockey mode.
We think she could have kept trotting around that circle all day.
Luckily, we brought along cheese sticks and a picnic lunch to refuel.
Not sure that all of us needed "fuel" though. This little farmer ran through the fields at lightening speed with a giant smile...

or with an open mouth in an effort to catch flies. She was entirely too busy to picnic for long.

These mini goats certainly weren't too busy for eats.
The "bunny wabbits" were one of our favorites. Our final animal of the day was "Buffy the Friendly Buffalo". Nice guy.
What a fun day. E-I-E-I-O.
