Dear Mark,
Our minds are racing with all that tomorrow will bring. Our team together again. 200 days apart ends now.

We want you to know that we are proud of you. You have sacrificed much. We have lived your experience through pictures, phone calls and emails. Still, we know that we'll never really understand. We couldn't meet the people that you met, do the work that you did, smell the smells or see the things you saw. All we know is that we are proud.

Many talk about the beauty of democracy. You helped make it happen.
Many talk about making a difference. You did.
Many talk about honor and bravery. You modeled it.

You are humble. I know you. You are reading this thinking, "Oh, but many have been there longer and seen more combat." You played your part, and we are beaming with pride for the man that you are.

Now it is time to get back to team business. There is plastic food to pretend to eat, toys to accidentally step on, tickling to do, little (and big) hands to hold, walks to take, movies to watch and family dinners to eat.

See ya at the airport. We'll be waiting.

Love,
R and P (and the monkeys)

Well said, Rebecca, well said! I wish you many tiny moments - a little glance seeing your hubby with your girl, a hug from your sweet hubby, maybe just opening your eyes and seeing the back of his head in the morning - those are the precious things you both have been missing! For Mark I can't wait for him to see you as the strong and powerful Mommy you are! And I wish you both happiness together!

Mark and Rebecca,

You are both amazing people and have made many sacrifices for the good of others. Mark, we thank you for your bravery and unwavering service to our country. Rebecca, we are in awe of how you graciously (and with great strength, courage and an amazing positive attitude) handled Mark being away. May your family have a sweet reunion.

Thank you Mark for protecting our great Country! From the Kowalski Family in Fort Myers Beach, Florida we salute you and thank you.
Our son was a soldier for halloween - a nine year old dressing up but his dream and his desire at this age is to serve our great Country. I will show him your pictures. Thank you again.

I had to write in again - Mark, we are so proud of you, can't wait to hear stories, thank you for your sacrifices and love the heck out of you. And, I can act like a sister in law again and tease you about your bald head :-)

Sigh. That was so beautiful! I am so ashamed of myself! The kids made cards and pictures for Mark and we had planned to send them, but they are here, on my desk, and now I hear that he's coming home soon! I'm so sorry! Please know that we are thinking of you all, and praying for you, my friend!
