Anyone else making an attempt to buy more organic food or to eat fresher food? Before The Peanut came along, we were headed down the healthier food path. Then came my pregnancy and life with a baby, and we veered away for a while. Now that our kiddo is eating as much table food as she can get her little paws on, we are working on eating better again.
This week, we are headed to our local farmers market to get veggies to
make these delicious sounding recipes:

I think it's a great idea, especially when it comes to milk and such. Still, I think we would need to buy our own milk cow if we wanted to do it, so we could afford it....LOL!
Georgia soooooo needs a Wegmans Nature's Food Market!
I am learning. My new favorite place to shop is Trader Joes!
I am totally about organic - I buy all of the organic stuff I can find in our stinking small town Kroger (which isn't nearly as much good stuff as you can find in Atlanta, I am sure). In addition to that, I buy meat at our local butcher so they are local meats, and shop at our farmers market as much as possible. Plus, I am trying to snake some of Mom's garden food after work today :-)
Welcome to the organic food club!!! It is so amazing as to what resources are now available and what great choices you are making for Sophia!

Let me know how you recipes turn out. They sound yummy!
Hey check out Stephanie Swanson's Green Kiddos link on my blog. I would go back and look at her old postings. She has great ideas and does all the research. I love it! I want to be healthier for Ella.
I am so excited to see you taking this step! It's been a HUGE priority for us and although it's tougher on the wallet, it's well worth it in the end!
I bought all organic for years... but with gas & food prices up, I have had to put my organic food purchases on hold for awhile. We love Horizon dairy though, and when things plane out, we will be buying it again. I think the milk TASTES better.

We do try and always buy organic milk, and am trying to buy healthier snacks. It's easy for Lainey, but my older kids are...well, older and more used to sugar and soda. Ooops. We'll do what we can.
have you checked out the "dirty dozen" list? it lets you know which veggies/fruits are most important to buy organic. we try to buy organic/grow our own whenever possible. but, yes, as others have mentioned, it gets SO expensive! here's the link to the list i mentioned:
