Referrals!

Congrats to all the new families that were matched with their babies this week! If you want to see some cute referral picures, check out this site.

The sad news is that the China Center for Adoption Affairs only referred 6 days. Families who were logged in between November 2nd and November 7, 2005 were matched. For us this means that there are 355 LID days between us and Claire.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of being with many people (former coworkers) who are good friends of mine that I don't see often. Everyone is so kind and always asks about the adoption. The question is usually, "Have you heard anything about the adoption?" I totally appreciate being asked about the adoption (because I'd like to talk about Claire all the time!), but I am just not sure how to answer this question. I want to explain the crazy adoption journey to people, both the complicated logistics and the emotional connection. How do I do that in a quick response?

Most importantly, we trust that we will travel to China to pick up Claire when it is time. Whether it ends up being 2008 or 2009 is out of our hands, BUT we believe that the timing is being perfectly planned. Our pals Jay and Angela travel to China SOON, so they are proof that dreams DO come true!

You guys are so funny. The music is very fitting! We have the same issue explaining the situation to friends. Right now we're just saying "We don't really know but everything's cool." Talk to you all soon.

This process is so emotional and complicated. Know that we are praying for Claire and Sophia. We know that God is at work even we we can't see it and your dreams will come true!!

I don't know how to answer those questions either, Rebecca. I guess there really isn't an easy, short way to do it. Sometimes I feel like people don't really believe we are adopting because I have been saying "probably another year" for over a year now! ;)
Thankfully we all have a great support system with our online buddies that truly know what we are going through!
Praying for you!

I know those questions are hard, but life if so full of unanswered questions! Try to answer "why do you only have one child, you're such a great Mom" in 20 seconds or less, or, Steven had some people ask "how does it feel to lose your Mom" Just try to remember that God is working this miracle, and that people only ask because they care. I love you!
